Lilac-breasted Roller at Maasai Mara

The Maasai Mara National Reserve, forming the northern reaches of the Serengeti ecosystem in southwestern Kenya, offers superb opportunities to photograph the Lilac-breasted Roller against its open grasslands, scattered acacia woodland & riverine forest along the Mara. October visits with our African Wildlife of the Maasai Mara holiday give photographers a chance to capture this striking bird within such varied perches & backdrops. The mix of habitats across the reserve provides plenty of scope for framing the roller amid the wider landscape it shares with the region's other wildlife.
