Marsh Harrier at Macin Mountain National Park
Marsh Harriers can be watched over the ancient slopes of Macin Mountain National Park, where southeastern Romania's Dobrogea region meets the Danube River & lies within easy reach of the Danube Delta's wetlands. This proximity to such rich wetland habitat makes the park a rewarding stop for photographers hoping to catch these birds on the wing against a backdrop of one of Europe's oldest mountain ranges. May is the month to visit, when light & timing favour good sightings. Photographers joining the Birds of the Danube Delta holiday will have the chance to include this location in their pursuit of Marsh Harrier images.
