Spotted Deer at Bandhavgarh National Park
Spotted Deer are a familiar sight across Bandhavgarh National Park, moving through the sal forests & open grasslands that spread beneath the reserve's sandstone escarpments & ridgelines in the Vindhya hills. The dramatic backdrop of the ancient hill fort & rugged terrain of the Umaria district offers photographers a chance to frame these deer against a landscape unlike anywhere else in central India. March is the recommended month to visit, when conditions in the park are typically at their best for photography. Travellers joining the Majestic Bengal Tigers of India holiday will have the opportunity to encounter this species during their time in Bandhavgarh.
