Our pelican photography holidays are built around close access, clean water-level viewpoints & patient work with some of the most characterful birds in wetland & coastal habitats. NaturesLens currently brings together pelican-focused trips in Greece & California, giving photographers the chance to work with both Dalmatian Pelicans on Lake Kerkini & Brown Pelicans along the Pacific coast. In Greece, the emphasis is on winter sessions at Lake Kerkini, one of Europe’s most reliable locations for Dalmatian Pelican photography. Boat-based & shoreline opportunities allow photographers to concentrate on frame-filling portraits, behaviour, wing detail, reflections & atmospheric images as light changes across the lake. In California, the focus shifts to coastal flight photography, with Brown Pelicans banking over surf & cliffs, alongside complementary opportunities with seals, sea lions & offshore whales. Together, these trips suit photographers who want strong bird portraits, action, behaviour & habitat-led images rather than a general birdwatching itinerary.
