How It Works
How to Book a NaturesLens Wildlife Photography Holiday
Clear, personal, & pressure free - no automated checkout, no sales funnel. Every enquiry is handled by the people who design & lead the trips.
Step 1 - Choose the Right Trip
Browse by destination, month, species or photographic style - start with our holidays calendar, our popular trips, or trips by year (2026 to 2029). Each trip page explains pace, access & who it's designed for, so expectations are aligned before you enquire.
Not sure? We're happy to talk through suitability before you submit anything.
Step 2 - Submit an Enquiry
Every trip page has an enquiry form. Submitting it does not commit you to anything - it comes straight to the NaturesLens team, not an automated system, & tells us your dates & flexibility, group & rooming needs, photography goals & experience level, & any health, mobility or dietary considerations.
This confirms the trip is genuinely suitable before we go any further.
Step 3 - Personal Guidance & Next Steps
We reply with honest guidance on availability, timing & what to expect. If it's a good fit, we'll explain next steps. If something doesn't align, we'll say so - & often suggest a better match elsewhere across Africa, Asia, Europe, Central America, North America or South America.
The goal is bookings made for the right reasons, with realistic expectations from the outset.
Step 4 - Provisional Hold & Deposit
If you decide to proceed, we hold your place & send a confirmation email, booking forms (photography, health & insurance details), & deposit & payment instructions. Your place is confirmed once the deposit & forms are back with us - exact amounts & balance due dates are on each trip page.
Your Booking Is Financially Protected
Every NaturesLens holiday is covered under the Package Travel & Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 - if we were ever unable to deliver a trip you'd paid for, you'd be entitled to a refund, or to be brought home if already abroad. See our financial protection page for the full detail.
Step 5 - Single Occupancy as Standard
Unless stated otherwise, NaturesLens holidays are priced on single occupancy - you won't be asked to share a room. It's a deliberate choice: better rest & flexibility on itineraries with early starts & long field sessions. More on our single travellers page.
Fitness, Pace & Accessibility
Trips vary in physical demand - some are long days in hides with minimal walking, others involve early starts or uneven terrain. Trip pages describe realistic pace, & the health & mobility questions at Step 2 exist so we can flag anything relevant before you commit. Ask us first if you're unsure - we'd rather talk it through than have you arrive underprepared.
Step 6 - Pre-Departure Support
Once confirmed, you'll get a detailed pre-trip pack, guidance on clothing, equipment & camera setup, advice on flights & transfers, & clear info on pace & conditions. Questions are always welcome, answered by people actually running the trip.
Step 7 - Travel & Photograph
On arrival, the focus shifts entirely to the experience - realistic, repeatable photographic opportunity rather than a rushed checklist. You'll work alongside experienced guides including David, Pui Hang, Robin, Alison, Ian, Conny, Dan & Johnny, with time built in to actually learn.
