Specific Location

Boca Tapada

NaturesLens visits Boca Tapada on small-group wildlife photography holidays in Costa Rica, with time here planned around Basilisk Lizard, Blue Jeans Poison Dart Frog, Chestnut-headed Oropendola, Chestnut-mandibled Toucan & Collared Aracari rather than general sightseeing. Current itineraries using Boca Tapada include Essential Costa Rican Wildlife, Ultimate Costa Rican Wildlife & Wildlife Icons of Costa Rica, with photography shaped around hide, boat-based, flight, garden & close-up & night or low-light photography sessions. A remote area of rainforest & wetland in Costa Rica’s northern lowlands near the Nicaraguan border, reached via lodges set along the San Carlos River. The country’s most reliable site for Great Green Macaw, alongside a strong supporting cast of toucans, herons, caimans & river-edge wildlife.
