Reddish Egret at Florida

Florida's low-lying peninsula, bordered by the Atlantic to the east & the Gulf of Mexico to the west, provides the wetland mosaic where the Reddish Egret can be found stalking the shallows with its characteristically animated, off-balance hunting style. The state's mix of coastal flats & interior marshes offers photographers plenty of vantage points to capture this striking heron in action. Those joining the Florida Ospreys holiday in April stand a good chance of encountering this species amid the same rich wetland habitat that draws birdlife throughout the region. Patience by the water's edge is rewarded, as the Reddish Egret's active feeding behaviour makes for dynamic, memorable images.
