Cost & Value

How Much Does a Wildlife Photography Holiday Cost?

NaturesLens wildlife photography holidays currently range from £1,599 to just under £10,000, depending on length, location & the logistics involved in reaching productive wildlife areas. There is no single answer to “how much,” but there is a clear, honest explanation for why prices vary as much as they do - & what you actually get for the money.

From £1,599

Our shortest, most accessible holidays - 3 to 4 night pelican & wetland-bird trips in Greece.

£5,131 average

The typical cost across our current holidays, tours & safaris, most of which run 5 to 8 nights.

Up to £9,999+

Extended, multi-location trips - such as 14 to 16 night expeditions to Colombia or the Tibetan Plateau.

What's Included, What Isn't

Every NaturesLens holiday price includes single occupancy accommodation as standard, an experienced photographer-guide throughout, all ground transport within the trip, & entry fees, hide fees & permits for the locations we photograph.

Prices do not usually include international flights, mandatory travel insurance, personal spending, optional lens or gear hire, or visa fees where applicable. Exact inclusions are always listed on the individual trip page, & our booking guide explains how deposits & payment work.

Why Prices Vary So Much

Five things drive the difference between a £1,599 trip & a £9,999 one: how many nights it runs, how remote & logistically complex the location is, how small the group is relative to the number of guides, how seasonal or rare the subject is, & the strength of our local partnerships on the ground.

Group size matters more than people expect. NaturesLens holidays run in small groups, typically four to six guests, with Iceland & Grimsey Island trips the only exceptions at up to eight. Smaller groups cost more to run per person, but they directly affect how much shooting time, positioning & guide attention each photographer gets - see our tours & holidays pages for how this plays out on specific trips.

Why NaturesLens Isn't the Cheapest

NaturesLens trips are priced to support small groups, experienced guides, strong local partnerships & repeat access to productive locations. Cheaper trips usually reach a lower headline price by using shared occupancy rooms, running larger groups, moving constantly between locations, reducing guide access, or charging extra later for things that materially affect the experience.

We would rather be upfront about cost than competitive on headline price alone.
