November takes you a very long way from Africa, tropical rainforest, high-altitude plateau & an island of species found nowhere else. Here’s what’s on.
Why is November a good month for Costa Rica’s wildlife?
Essential Costa Rican Wildlife fills a portfolio with colour & volume this month, chestnut-mandibled toucans, blue jeans poison dart frogs & hummingbirds against genuine rainforest, all photographed at productive feeders & perches our guides know well.
Fill your portfolio with tropical colour
Essential Costa Rican Wildlife is built around productive feeders, perches & lodges, not lucky sightings.

Why is November the right month for Tibet’s plateau wildlife?
Tibetan Wildlife of the Qing-Zang Plateau gives you black-necked cranes & blue sheep against some of the most dramatic high-altitude scenery we work in, timed for when the cranes have arrived on their wintering grounds & the light across the plateau is at its clearest.
Why is Madagascar worth visiting specifically in November?
Madagascar Wildlife & Rainforest is built entirely around species that exist nowhere else on the planet, aye-ayes, asities & mantellas among them, & November sits within the island’s more settled rainforest season, better access & more reliable sightings than the wetter months either side.
Is Tibet’s altitude a concern for photographers on this trip?
It’s something we plan around carefully rather than something to worry about unduly. The itinerary is built with acclimatisation days & a measured pace, & our guides are experienced in working at altitude, most photographers adjust well within the first couple of days.
Which of these November trips should you choose?
Choose Costa Rica for volume & tropical colour built around productive feeders & perches. Choose Tibet for a genuinely different high-altitude landscape alongside black-necked cranes & blue sheep. Choose Madagascar if endemic species found nowhere else on the planet are the priority.
Rainforest colour, plateau light & island endemics, November covers about as much ground as any month in our calendar.
