Eurasian Otter at Pusztaszer

Pusztaszer, the small village near Szeged that hosts photographer Bence Máté's family farm, offers a network of purpose-built hides set among the wetlands, meadows & forest edges that make up this stretch of the Great Hungarian Plain. It's here, alongside species such as European bee-eater, hoopoe, kingfisher, roller & various owls, that visiting photographers have the chance to train their lenses on the Eurasian otter. Those joining the Hungarian Winter Wildlife holiday in February can look forward to time in these hides, waiting patiently for this elusive riverside mammal to make an appearance.
